10 Nutrition Myths Debunked

2.7K

Nutrition advice nowadays is like the telephone game. A study comes out, and that piece of information is twisted by the media, then changed a little bit on a Facebook post, then twisted by a supplements company, and it finally reaches the ear of your nutrition enthusiast auntie. And once we’ve assimilated a piece of information, we treat it as fact and rarely think of challenging it. And then nutrition myths are created. In this video let’s take a look at 10 common healthy eating myths and find out what’s fact and what’s fiction. And as any nutrition claim should be backed by science I left the scientific papers in the description box of the video, in case you want to investigate a little more.

Here are the myths you’ll see debunked:

Is intermittent fasting better than conventional meal timing?
We should detoxify our organism.
Alkaline foods cure disease and acidic foods cause disease.
There’s one best diet.
Is breakfast really the most important meal of the day?
Eating healthy is more expensive.
I shouldn’t drink liquids with meals.
I shouldn’t eat fruit with meals.
We should eat every 3 hours.

After you watch the video I would love to know, how many of these did you already know the answer to? And how many of these have you heard about? I hope this video is helpful to you in any way, and that it shows you that nutrition doesn’t have to be complicated or have all these crazy rules. We’re in it for a simple, uncomplicated, and pleasant nutrition 🥰
